Sandbags can be used to perform a wide variety of conventional lifts, kettlebell lifts, and plyometrics; they can also be used in strongman training and plate work--all with the same piece of equipment. Weight can be added or subtracted depending on the type of training that is being performed. Sandbags can be used on the field, in the gym, or in the weight room. The system outlined in 101 Sandbag Drills is not all-inclusive. Coaches and trainers are encouraged to use this system within their yearly periodized system. Use sandbags when focusing on power, during the season or during active rest.
