Aprons: 1-3/4" Deep 16 gauge cold rolled steel "u" channel, fas-tened 8" O.c. with #10 x 11/16" type A, full-thread hardened metal screws, at 6 points shown with 1/4" flat bolts recessed in platform top. Load is carried from the unit top through channel top flange to top cross tube of leg to floor.
Edge: 3/4" 16 gauge galvanized steel angle fastened 8" O.c. with #10 x 11/16" type A full threaded, hardened metal screws. Joints and corners smoothly fabricated with no joints at corners.
Steel Leg Tubing: 1.05" O.d. x .073" wall, 45% high-carbon con-tent structural steel tubing. Top cross tube rests on apron flange and transmits load from top through channel to floor.
Swing Clamps: 4 self storing swinging clamps hook inside of channel apron and channel of adjoining platform forming a positive frame to frame lock, retained by 5/16" thumb screw.
Steel Leg Brace (Not Shown): Four - 1/4" x 3/4" x 38-1/4" L steel braces on end leg and three - 32" L on center leg and are fastened to leg and brace bracket with 1/4" solid rivets; Aisi C1008 steel - max. hardness, Rockwell B-60.
Brace Bracket: Two brackets per brace .075" thick steel fas-tened to platform top with two #10 x 11/16", type A, full threaded, hardened metal screws and one 1/4" flat-head bolt set into platform top.
Double Center Aprons: Platform has two separate apron chan-nel assemblies welded together and centered in the middle of plat-form.
Gussets: .060" thick steel gussets with 2 spot welds to web of channel apron and fastened with two #10 x 11/16", full-thread screws.Tops: Panelam panels not less than 3/4" thick with select plywood cores and surfaced top and bottom with smooth (underside) and textured (traffic side) black polyethylene. Provides maximum wearing characteristics and moisture retardant barrier. Panelam's lightweight thermoplastic overlay is permanently bonded with exteri-or grade adhesive.
Unified Structure: Rigid, unified, one piece box type frame ex-tends completely around perimeter and is inset approximately 3/4" from edge. Made of 1-3/4" W by 16 gauge cold rolled steel channels permanently joined by corner stampings, with each length wise channel reinforced with two heavy steel webs to prevent stress twist. Center channels welded back to back reinforce and provide proper center stiffening.
Steel Finish: All steel components are powder coated and are finished under these steps - Iron acid phosphate treated and rinsed; Phosphate coated for rust prevention; Sprayed hybrid powder coat-ed and baked; Color Jet Black - samples available upon request.
Testing: Marquette University School of Engineer-ing has performed Dead Load-Live Load testing of Mitchell Platforms and Risers with the following re-sults: "Stage and Riser units tested withstood the required 200 lb./sq. ft. live load plus approximately 25% of that live load plus horizontal load equal to 10% of the required live load without any noticeable failure or permanent deformation of any part of the unit, and shall be con-sidered as having passed this test without exceptions or reserva-tions."
