One of the most important parts of the game of basketball is also one of the hardest to master. Now you have help!
In this video Sherri Coale shows you how to build or become a great shooter. Coach Coale demonstrates and guides you through a practical shooting progression that any player can use to build a successful jump shot. Youll get a ton of individual and partner drills for building a successful shot.
Coales progression starts with stationary drills with and without a ball to help players focus on the individual components of the shot.
As the progression continues, players start shooting at the basket to further develop their shooting form and their confidence. Coale demonstrates a drill called Killers to check players form and to build muscle memory through continuous repetition.
After mastering shooting form, footwork is added to the progression. Your players will learn how to use their feet to get square to the rim on the hop and to pivot into their shot.
Then Coale adds shooting off the dribble. She teaches her players to use the dribble as a pass to yourself and how to use the last dribble to get into the cock and lock position to shoot, using their strong or weak hand.
The final step in the progression takes place at free throw line. Players use everything theyve learned about shooting to perfect their free throws. Coale demonstrates the process of free throw shooting in two phases: setting your feet and having routine and rhythm in your shot.
All of the drills in this DVD are demonstrated with a group of players, so you can see how to use the progression in a practice setting.
Sherri Coale is a master teacher with a blueprint for shooting success!
